WHAT I WANNA BE
I wanna be bold and fearless:
A tiny fish skimming the
Sun-kissed water
Daring the baited hook.
I wanna be safe from evil:
Wolves in sheep's clothing
Safe from you-
Your misconceptions.
I wanna drive fast on a one-lane highway:
A blur in everyone's eye
Feeling the rush of fantasy and death
In one breath.
I wanna be your inspiration:
The adrenaline that keeps you going
The desire that keeps you begging-
Begging for more.
I wanna be lost on an island:
Surrounded by mangos and palm trees
The tingling sea water massaging my feet
Cooling my sun-drenched temple.
I wanna be forever young:
Free of responsibility
Free of the lines that scar your face
And mark your soul.
Most of all
I wanna be me.
